Pune: NCP State President Jayant Patil escapes unhurt as crane trolley tilts at Shivneri Fort (Video)
Pune: The NCP (SP) led by its President Sharad Pawar has launched ‘Shivswarajya Yatra’, its state-wide campaign to garner support of voters in the forthcoming State Assembly polls.
Similarly, Ajit Pawar, the president of the breakaway faction of the NCP (AP), kicked off his party’s Jansanman Yatra from Dindori in Nashik on Thursday.
The Yatra began from Shivneri Fort in Junnar in the presence of party’s State President Jayant Patil, Shirur MP Amol Kolhe, office-bearers and workers.
However, a weird accident took place during the function to launch the Yatra. As Patil was garlanding the equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on a crane, its trolley or bucket suddenly tilted.
Patil, Kolhe, Rohini Khadse and Mehbub Shaikh were present in the trolley, which was being lowered to garland the huge statue. However, the trolley tilted in the air and people present in it lost their balance. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident but a major accident was averted.
