Pune: Guarantor submits forged documents, tries to cheat court, arrested
Pune: The Wanawadi Police set a trap and arrested a person, who forged documents, faked his identity to stand as a guarantor to an accused involved in serious offences such as attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, vehicle theft and loot. He thus wanted to cheat the court.
The fake guarantor was identified as Santoshkumar Shankarrao Telang (32), a resident of Hadapsar. He was arrested after setting a trap at 5 pm on Saturday (December 4) at the Cantonment Court on the premises of Mahatma Phule Sanskrutik Bhavn in Wanawadi.
Policeman Somnath Popat Kamble lodged a complaint at the Wanawadi Police Station in this regard. According to the police, Bachchansingh Jogindersingh Bhond is a member of the Tilaksingh Tak gang. They have committed serious offences such as attempt to murder, possessing dangerous weapons, dacoity, vehicle theft, robbery, extortion, threatening small businessmen and shopkeepers and demanding various things from them for free.
As many as 10 members of the gang were arrested under the MCOCA last year. Bachchansingh Bhond is one of them and is currently lodged in the Yerwada Central Prison. Four offences were registered against him at the Kondhwa Police Station. He sought bail at the Cantonment Court, where accused Santoshkumar Telang faked his identity and attached a fake ration card, a copy of 7/12 extracts with the bail application filed through Adv Jadhav.
The Wanawadi Police got a tip-off that he was trying to seek bail by forging documents. The police set a trap and arrested Telang. They confiscated the fake documents from his possession. They also recovered a fake Aadhaar card, a fake ration card and other such documents from his possession. PSI Dhanaji Tone investigated the matter.
