Pune: Will Ajit Pawar be Guardian Minister for two districts?
Pune: Discussions are underway over the District Guardian Ministership. It is assumed that NCP (AP) President and DyCM Ajit Pawar will be made the Pune District Guardian Minister. He is likely to be made the Guardian Minister for one more district.
The state politics is in turmoil over the Massajog Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh murder case. The culprits seem to be close aides of Walmik Karad, who has been booked in an extortion case. Opposition leaders have demanded NCP (AP) leader and State Minister Dhananjay Munde’s resignation due to his proximity to Karad.
However, Munde has washed his hands of the matter. It is alleged that Munde’s aides were involved in the Sarpanch murder and extortion. Therefore, he may not get the Beed District Guardian Minister’s post.
Beed MP Bajrang Sonwane has demanded that Ajit Pawar should accept the Beed District Guardian Ministership. Moreover, leaders such as Prakash Solanke and Suresh Dhas do not have any issue with Ajit Pawar’s name. Therefore, he may be named as the Beed Guardian Minister, it is said.
When asked to comment on this, BJP State President Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “The Beed Guardian Ministership has been with the NCP for many years. They have demanded it now. Therefore, it will be given to them. But the name of the Guardian Minister will be decided by the NCP (AP).”
