Shiv Sena (BT) leader from Navi Mumbai may join NCP (SP)
Navi Mumbai: Shiv Sena (BT) leader from Navi Mumbai and Party Deputy Leader Vijay Nahata may soon join the NCP (SP).
NCP (SP) President Sharad Pawar has given a go-ahead for Nahata’s entry into his party. This is likely to deal a blow to the Maha Yuti in Navi Mumbai.
Vijay Nahata has been preparing for the State Assembly poll from Belapur. He has a big following in the Belapur belt due to his daily programmes and social welfare initiatives. However, after a meeting held in Delhi on Monday (October 7), both seats from Navi Mumbai are likely to be given to the BJP.
The office-bearers and workers wished that the Belapur seat would be given to the party. But the seat may go to the BJP. This has caused resentment among Shiv Sena (BT) workers in Navi Mumbai. This could have adverse fallout.
Nahata said, “In 2019, the seat was given to the alliance partner. The party kept quiet then. But now party workers are in no mood to listen. All gathered together at Karnala and took an oath that they would elect me. I am already an MLA in people’s minds. I will have to respect their sentiments.”
