Ajit Pawar receives big setback in Ahilyanagar district, bigwig leaves party
Ahilyanagar: NCP (AP) Women’s Wing District President Anuradha Nagawade and State Vice-President Rajendra Nagawade have resigned from all party posts and its primary membership. Their supporters and workers have also quit the party.
This is seen as a big jolt for Ajit Pawar during the State Assembly polls. Pawar promised Anuradha Nagawade that she would be a party candidate in the State poll. However, the Maha Yuti announced Pratibha Pachpute (Babanrao Pachpute’s wife) as its candidate. Therefore, the Nagawades have left the NCP (AP).
Pratibha Nagawade demanded the candidature from the MVA last week by meeting Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray and Nana Patole. She has been trying hard to get the MVA candidature from the Shrigonda Assembly segment.
It is still not clear whether the Shrigonda seat would be allotted to the NCP (SP) or the Shiv Sena (UBT). Both parties have staked their claim on the constituency.
Anuradha Nagwade is ready to contest on the Shiv Sena (UBT) symbol. On the other hand, former MLA Rahul Jagtap is an aspirant from the NCP (SP).
