Around 8,000 to 10,000 devotees benefited from free health check-ups, medicines, foot massage and meal services

Pune: Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust organised several welfare initiatives for Warkaris who arrived in Pune during their pilgrimage to Pandharpur for Ashadhi Wari.

The Trust arranged free meals, a health check-up camp, medicine distribution and foot massage services for the devotees. The initiatives received an overwhelming response, with nearly 8,000 to 10,000 Warkaris benefiting from the Mahaprasad service.

Lakhs of devotees accompanying the palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj are currently staying in Pune before continuing their journey towards Pandharpur.

Upholding its annual tradition of social responsibility, Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust, known as India’s first public Ganpati mandal, organised these services under the guiding principle, “Service itself is devotion.”

Considering the long walking journey, physical exhaustion and health concerns faced by Warkaris, the Trust arranged primary health examinations and free distribution of essential medicines.

A special foot massage facility was also provided to offer relief to devotees suffering from fatigue and foot pain after walking long distances.

The initiative was planned under the guidance of the Trust’s trustee and festival head, Punit Balan. Warkari devotees appreciated the arrangements and praised the Trust for its dedicated service during the Ashadhi Wari.
