Pimpri Chinchwad Police clarify on rumours about Vishal Agarwal escaping their custody

Pimpri: There were rumours in the twin towns that prominent builder and father of the minor in the hit-and-run case Vishal Agarwal had escaped from the custody of the police.

Clearing the air on the issue, Sr PI Kanhaiya Thorat, Hinjawadi Police Station, said, “Vishal Agarwal is in our custody and he is safe. The message circulated on social media is false. It is a mischief.”

An explanation has also been given over the secrecy in the arrest of Agarwal. A needle of suspicion has pointed towards the Pimpri Chinchwad Police in this matter. It is said that a high-level inquiry would be conducted in this connection.

Agarwal was arrested for cheating flat owners in a society in Bavdhan. He was produced in the court and was sent to police custody for three days. The police were tight-lipped about this. Meanwhile, a message went viral on social media that Vishal Agarwal had escaped the police custody.
