Pimpri: Pavana Dam water storage increases to 91 pc
Pimpri: The Pavana Dam, which supplies water to residents in Maval taluka and Pimpri-Chinchwad, is filled to 91 pc of its capacity. Around 3,200 cusecs of water is being discharged from the dam into the river from 1 pm on Thursday (August 1).
Officials from Pavana Dam have warned citizens living along the banks to take precautions. The warning stated, ‘Citizens living along the banks of Pavana river should note that the Pavana Dam is filled to 91 pc of the capacity. Rainfall in the catchment areas of the reservoir has increased.
In this backdrop, 3,200 cusecs of water will be released into the river to control the water level in the dam. The discharge will be increased or decreased depending on the water level in the reservoir. Therefore, citizens living along the river banks should not enter the riverbed and remove all their belongings from there’.
