Pune: Boy in an affair with minor girl, kills her, marries another woman; case detected 56 days after murder

Pune: A youth had an affair with a minor girl but he wanted to marry another woman. He killed his lover after a dispute over his marriage. Then he dumped her dead body, with the help of a friend, in Dive Ghat in a gunny bag.

Later, he got married. The dead girl’s relatives lodged a missing person’s complaint. The police found her body in Dive Ghat and registered a murder offence. The Lonikand Police cracked the case after 56 days and arrested the two youths.

The arrested accused were identified as Balaji Ramrao Hinge (25) and his friend Sachin Sanjay Ranpise (26), both residents of Phulgaon. According to the police, Hinge had an affair with the 17-year-old girl. But he wanted to marry another woman. When the minor girl fought with him over his marriage, he killed her. Her family members lodged a missing person’s complaint at the Lonikand Police Station on November 2.

The police were searching for her but could not trace her. After 56 days, they found her body in Dive Ghat. Her last rites were performed on December 28. The police detained the suspects, who confessed to have killed her.

After killing her, they kept her body in a vehicle for two days. Then they transported it to Dive Ghat, where they put her body in a gunny bag and dumped it in the Ghat. Later, Hinge married another woman as planned after 15 days. It was a cold-blooded murder.
