Pune: Rickshaw Driver Faces Legal Action for Sexually Assaulting Woman by Faking Marriage Promise

Pune: The Vishrantwadi police have registered a complaint against one individual for sexually assaulting a woman by giving her a false marriage promise.

In this case, a 25-year-old woman filed a complaint at Vishrantwadi police station. Accordingly, police booked Rakesh Sunil Sarode (age 31), a resident of Vishrantwadi.

As per the police complaint, the plaintiff woman resides with her two children in Vishrantwadi. She has disputes with her husband, and their case is going on in the family court. The plaintiff complained that, taking advantage of her loneliness, the accused cheated her, gave her a fake marriage promise, and kept physical relations with her.

The accused is a rickshaw driver, and he has dropped the plaintiff in his rickshaw many times. In this way, the accused became friends with the plaintiff. He told the plaintiff that he also had a dispute with her wife and that he was also taking a divorce from her. Notably, he assured the plaintiff that he would marry her after his divorce from his wife. By saying this, the accused maintained physical relations with the plaintiff. However, the accused did not keep his promise.

When the woman asked him about his divorce on August 1, the accused stopped talking with the plaintiff and broke all contact with her. In this regard, the woman filed a cheating complaint against the accused. Police Inspector Kanchan Jadhav is conducting further investigation into the case.
