Traitors got Rs 50 crore but Ladki Bahin gets only Rs 1,500, this isn’t Maharashtra’s tradition: Uddhav Thackeray
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray has come down heavily on the Maha Yuti government in the State. He said, “The two thugs are looting my Maharashtra. They gave Rs 50 crore to traitors but they are giving Ladki Bahin Rs 1,500 only.”
He also commented on the universal girls’ education scheme of the government with the slogan: ‘Mulgi shikli pragati zali’ (an educated girl means progress). Thackeray said that the girl child is imparted education but has been forced to do household chores.
He said, “It is raining schemes but there is a drought of implementation. One after another schemes are being floated. They have siphoned off our rightful money. They took Rs 50 crore when they formed the government. But they are giving only Rs 1,500 to our sisters. They are not ashamed of splitting parties, stabbing others in the back. They are taking our money and giving it back to us. This is not ‘Maharashtra Dharm’ (State’s tradition).”
They are undoing the work done during the pandemic. Compare my government’s work with that of the BJP-ruled states. If you prove that I lagged behind, I will retire from politics. They are looting us. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had looted Surat to build ‘Swarajya’… these two thugs are looting Maharashtra. They advertise themselves with the looted money.
“People trust government advertisements. It was done in 2014… ‘Chai Pe Charcha’. What was the cost of tea then and what is it now? Sugar, milk have become costly. How much GST has been recovered? Discuss this. Review how many schemes were launched in villages and how much have they benefited. It is proudly said about the universal education of girls that an educated girl means progress. But they have been forced to do household work.”
